Friday is the best day!

Joining Lauren Elizabeth on this drab rainy Friday for High 5 for Friday.

Most of our exciting events came in the form of videos this week so I thought I would share :)

1. Little Man and Em's first fight! And Surprise Surprise it is over her favorite toy....I see many more of these squabbles in the near future!

2. Little man learned how to snap.....okay well maybe he didn't but in my opinion this is just as good and a heck of a lot cuter!!

3. Baby Em is trying her best to talk to us!! Ignore Daddy and little man playing in the background lol She had a lot to say yesterday!

4. My little angel!! Her face looks almost porcelain in this picture! It is hard to believe that she is almost 4 months old! She wanted to model her favorite socks for Daddy this week :)

5. My babies are growing so fast!! I love to watch them every single day! This was the first time he ever saw sissy...and he was scared to death! Now he can't get enough of her!

Best Inventoin EVER!

When I learned I was pregnant with Em the first thing I said was I WILL breastfeed her. I don't care what it takes or how much Fenugreek I have to take I will breastfeed her!

Fast forward 9 months and she arrives healthy and strong. So I ask the nurse to let her latch so she could learn quickly. First time she tried it was a perfect latch and I could not have been happier!!
The only trouble we have run across was her spell of dehydration from refusing to eat ANYTHING. She would not nurse or take a bottle I even tried formula! So there we were in the hospital for a week! (Check out Em's Birth Story Part2 & Part3 for more information on that!) Since then we have had not one little problem!

Then at 8 weeks I had to return to work :( Enter the best invention ever created!
The Medela Easy Expression Bustier. This thing has saved my life on more than one occasion!! Although it is a little pricey ($33.99 @ Target) it has definitely been worth every cent!

There are so many different things that you can accomplish while pumping....Especially while I am at work!

My recommendation to all you nursing/pumping mommas.... GO GET ONE TODAY!!

For a cheaper alternative I have heard several ladies mention that they have taken an old Sports Bra and cut slits big enough for the cones to slide into. I have not personally tried this, but seems like it could work!

Facebook Page!

Yes I realize I am 723 years behind everyone else, but I have finally done it! I have created a Facebook Page for my blog! And let me tell you it was SOOOOO much easier than I had anticipated!

I wish now that I had done it a long time ago, but could never figure out how..

Then I ran across this blog post by Nuts & Bolts Media and was so impressed with how easy it sounded. SO I tried it....and VOILA the Facebook page for Babies, Bosses, & Boyfriends was created :)

So everyone go Like it PRETTY PLEASE :)

Mouthwatering Mondays: Makes its comeback!

Are you looking for an easy and absolutely DELICIOUS dessert to take to that summer picnic or Bar-B-Q this weekend? I have the quick and easy(and for those of us on a budget CHEAP) solution! Orange Creamsicle Pie...
Remember this?? Now every one's favorite Ice Cream treat is turned into a yummy easy to make Pie.

Orange Creamsicle Pie

Ingredients: 5

Prep Time: 12 min

1 1/2 cups crushed Nilla Wafers
1/3 cup butter (melted)
1 pack Orange Kool-Aid Mix
 8oz tub Cool Whip
14oz sweetened Condensed milk

Crust: Mix crushed Nilla Wafers and melted butter together and press into the bottom and up the sides of a lightly greased pie tin. Bake at 375 degrees for 5-7 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. (Or you can cheat and use a store bought crust..Shortbread cookie crust is the best!!)

Filling: Mix Kool-Aid, Cool Whip, and condensed milk together until smooth. Place into the cooled pie crust and chill for at least 3-4 hours before serving.

Keep mixing!!
Now you got it!

Want some added summer fun?? Try any flavor of Kool-Aid you wish! I have personally only tried with Strawberry and Orange, but hey why not be creative?

Hope you enjoy one of my family's favorite simple AND DELICIOUS summer deserts.

Bye-Bye Baby

Well...It looks like my little man is no longer a baby :( He will be 2 in July and in the past month he has become the most independent little boy I have ever seen. I can't help him with his food anymore he either holds it or he doesn't eat. I can't put his shoes or as he says shooks (Shoe + Sock) on him anymore he screams until you let him do it himself. Even if they are on the wrong feet you better not touch them!

Independence is always a great thing to teach children, but when it is your own it is almost heartbreaking when they get to this stage. Mommy is no longer needed unless they are hurt or sleepy. I guess one day I will not be needed for this either so I should enjoy it while I can, but its hard to watch them grow.

He is growing up so quickly and becoming such a little man. He has the biggest heart of any 2 year old I know. He is genuinely concerned about the people around him. You can's sneeze, cough, fall, or hurt yourself without him asking 'You okay?, You Okay?' I guess he gets it from us because we always ask him if he gets strangled or coughing "Are you okay buddy?" and his response is 'Yes I okay Mom Mom"

He loves his sister more than anything in this world and will not let her out of his sight for very long. First thing he does when he wakes up from a nap or comes out of his room from playing is find her and give her a kiss. If she is sleeping he will say "Where Sissy at?" and I have to take him to her so he can give her a kiss. If anyone is holding her he will walk up to them put his arms out to reach for her and say "My Sissy" as he is bobbling that head like he always does.

I love my little man and as much as I love watching him grow and develop It makes me sad to know that this time next month we will be celebrating a 2nd birthday :(

We are decorating 'Hot Dog' style. His favorite show..well the only show he will actually watch...is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. To him it is called Hot Dog, Hot Dog and he cannot get enough of it. So his 2nd birthday will be Mickey Mouse from top to bottom. I cannot wait to have his little pictures made in his cute little shirt!!

Look for pictures next month :)

Fathers Day Fun

This weekend we had a blast!! We spent most of it with family celebrating the Father's and Grandfathers! :)
We celebrated this amazing dad!! #tbt (on Monday) This is him and my little man at 9 months old. :) Makes my heart smile!

And we celebrated this man! The best daddy a girl could ask for and the most amazing papaw to my children. He taught me how to play baseball, do gymnastics, and how a man should treat a lady, to never accept anything but the best and to always trust the Lord cause he can get you through anything! I love my daddy!!

Then we went to the lake with some friends and played corn hole on the dock! Never mind how bad I look, but we had a blast!

Hope you all had a great weekend as well!!

What I Love Wednesday

Well...Its Wednesday and this week is my short week so tomorrow is my Friday!! I could not be happier!

Here is what I am loving this week...

1. I love that my milk is finally enough to satisfy my little one. All you breastfeeding mommas out there know how frustrating this can be. Going back to work has been really hard on my body and I had not been pumping enough each day to keep up with her while I am gone. She was using frozen milk I had stored. BUT this week that all changed and I have finally pumped enough to even have extra every day!! AND this I LOVE!

2. I love that when I wasn't feeling well last night my BF picked up a pizza so I didn't have to cook, gave little man a bath, put him in his PJS and put him to bed ALL WITHOUT ME EVEN ASKING. To some of you ladies this might not seem like a big deal but it was huge at my house. He is always helpful but usually I have to ask him. Yesterday he took it upon himself. It felt like Mother's day all over again!!
Best Daddy Award!

3. I love that I am off on Friday and get to spend the whole day with my kiddos!!

4. I love that the weather has been beautiful and hope it stays that way this weekend 8)

And that is what I am loving on this Wednesday morning!

I also love this special relationship we have. He is such a NUT! And I love him!

Weekend...Where did you go?

Does anyone else ever feel like the week drags on FOREVER and when the weekend comes and you get two whole days to do nothing or in our case everything..it flashes by in an instant??

UGH well this weekend was a great one but once again way too short!

Here is a little peak at some of our exciting events.

We played on the swing set...and this was apparently their favorite way to swing.

Baby Em rode a bear. Obviously she was pretty excited about it..NOT

We had our first encounter with the Bunbo seat and she LOVED it.

My baby boy played in his pool and had more fun with the water hose squirting every body else than he did playing with his toys. Isn't he such a cutie!!

Mommy had fun dressing sissy up as a monkey! BUT a cute little monkey!!
Look at my little beach Bum she is ready for a vacation!! Take notes daddy!

That was our wonderful weekend. What about you?
