I NEED HELP! My due date is getting VERY close and I am getting SUPER nervous!

If you have read (or even looked at) my blog you will notice that I have a 1 1/2 year old little boy that is the light of my life. Although he is my son I did not give birth to him.

My little man @ 6 weeks old

Enter mommy's cause for concern...

I can handle all the normal mommy duties from dirty diapers, to spit-ups, and sleepless nights. That is not what has me worried.....I am worried about all the fun stuff!

My sleeping Beauty @ 31 weeks

  1. How in the heck am I supposed to deal with LABOR??
  2. What do I take to the Hospital??
  3. What do I need to expect when I get there??
  4. How do I make sure my baby is only Breastfed and that she will even want to??
  5. How will I know if it is really a contraction??
  6. Who do I need to make sure is there when I am in labor??

Any advice would be helpful!

  2. I had an unusual birth, so I won't answer everything, but here's my bits of info:

    4. Most nurses/doctors nowadays seem to assume you want the child breastfed unless otherwise stated, but you can always just tell people.

    5. When you can time them and they're regular, start paying attention. All contractions are "real" (many women start dilating a little weeks before birth) but labor is regular waves of them.

    6. I just had my husband and it was nice. It was a special time for us.

  3. I will say this birth is different for all mothers. My oldest son I was in labor for 32 hours and had an epideral (sp). I hated it honestly, I just didn't like not being able to feel anything. My last 3 were natural, I honestly didn't think it was that bad (yes the contractions hurt)!!!! But I wouldn't have changed my mind.

    2) I will say you should definitely make sure you have a bag packed with pajamas and comfy clothing and your toiletries. Than clothing to take your baby home.

    5) I was also told if you think your having contractions to walk around for 30 minutes. If the contractions stop than there Braxton hixes. If they don't stop than their real contractions.

    6) Make sure your boyfriend is there

  4. Found you through Melissa's link up
I have a 5 month old son, he has been exclusively breastfed until we added his homemade foods once a day about 3 weeks ago. I have had family and friends suggest formula, but not healthcare people. The hospital asked me once what I wanted, and as soon as I said Breastfeeding (my son was in the NICU for 20 days) they brought me a pump right to my room. He was never offered formula the whole time he was in the hospital.
I battled a supply issue, and still do but have it figured out now, and he had to get formula supplements once a day so I could keep up around his 6-8 week growth spurt.
I can offer you support and advice when you go through breastfeeding, just email away if you need anything.

The labor part, I can't help you with. He was born by c-section at 37 weeks, I never felt the first contraction...never had one. But, I can tell you I was all for a natural drug-free delivery, scared to DEATH of the spinal, the c-section. It was SIMPLE, it was EASY, and recovery was a snap. It's not as bad as I worked it up in my head to be. So, should you have to take that route, it's not bad!! Promise!!
